Dana has been involved in PAMEC as a director and officer since its inception in 2015 participating in board governance and event organization. He has been active in the development of the marine renewable energy sector in Canada through involvement with Marine Renewables Canada (Past Chair) and the Fundy Energy Research Network Socio Economic Committee (Co-Chair).

His marine renewable experience includes involvement in sector strategies, policy development and research including the Canadian Marine Renewable Energy Technology Roadmap, The Bay of Fundy Strategic Environmental Assessment, The Value Proposition for Tidal Energy Development (OERA), the Fundy Energy Research Network SocioEconomic Scoping Study, Southwest Nova Scotia Tidal Energy Resource Assessment, Mi’kmaq Ecological Knowledge Study for the Bay of Fundy and the Nova Scotia Marine Renewable Energy Strategy.

Dana also was a Founder of Fundy Tidal Inc. (Past President), established in 2006 to develop small-scale tidal power generation in Digby County, Nova Scotia with a vision of community ownership that maximized socioeconomic opportunities to local communities and businesses. Participated in the development of in-stream tidal Community Feed-In Tariffs (COMFIT).
