Dernis Mediavilla

Dernis Mediavilla is a physical oceanographer with a PhD degree in Oceanography. With more than eight years’ experience in marine renewable energy topics, she joined the creation of the Marine Energy Research and Innovation Center (MERIC) at the beginning of its operation in 2015 as an R&D project coordinator. Currently, she is the Project Division Manager in MERIC, overseeing the strategic alignment of R&D, technological services, and technology facilitation in the country. She also leads the construction of a strong national and international, public, and private network, sharing and integrating knowhow from and towards the Center. She was recently awarded a Chile’s Ministry of Energy recognition as:  Woman of the Year 2020.
