Hotel Reservations

The official hotel of PAMEC 2024 is the Hotel Dann Carlton Barranquilla rated Five Stars and located in the north of the city which is close to the main roads and the business centers of the city. It is also close to many bars, and restaurants. The Hotel is 3.8 km from the Universidad del Norte, about a 40 minute walk or 9 minute drive. Shuttles to and from the Hotel and the Universidad del Norte will be provided daily free to conference delegates.

We have been provided a special rate of $207,665 COP (approximately $48 USD) per night for a standard room with a King or two twin beds. Details on Standard Suites for $326,665 COP (approximately $75 USD) per night) and Grand Suites for $445,665 COP (approximately $100 USD) per night can be found through the associated links or on the hotel website.

Colombia has provisions for exempting foreign visitors from the country’s form of a Value Added Tax. In order to be eligible, non-residents must ensure their passports are stamped by Colombian Immigration authorities with a Visa for a Temporary Resident (TP) or as a Visitor. Your passport showing the stamp should be presented to the front desk when you register. To be eligible you must make your reservation in your personal name.

Note: Hotel spaces are limited, and all reservations should be confirmed at least 30 days before the conference begins.

If you miss the deadline or wish to make different arrangements, you may choose from many other accommodation choices near the Dann Carlton. Please keep in mind that when you make alternative arrangements, the Dann Carlton is the hub for some conference events and the location of the shuttle service to the Conference at the University.

If you do not use the form, to ensure a smooth booking process, you are asked to send an email with the following details:

Email body structure: “Please book a room for [name], passport/ID [insert number] for [insert number of people] during the dates of [insert dates]. The promotional code is PAMEC/UNINORTE and the payment method is by by [insert Credit Card Type]. This is a Non Face-To-Face Transaction. Thank you.”

Upon receiving this email, the Dann Carlton Hotel will respond with a payment link valid for 24 hours to make your reservation.
