PAMEC 2024 Call for Abstracts

Pan American Marine Energy Conference Association announces Call for Abstracts for PAMEC 2024

 (Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada)- The Pan American Marine Energy Conference Association (PAMEC) is now accepting Expressions of Interest to submit an extended abstract for presentation at PAMEC 2024 in Barranquilla, Colombia, January 22-24, 2024. Pre-Conference Workshops will also take place January 19-20, 2024.

Marine Energy research themes include Tidal & In-stream, Wave, Ocean Current, Offshore Wind, Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion (OTEC), Salinity Gradient, Biofuels & E-Fuels and Floating Photovoltaic (Solar) and Resource characterization on such topics as Technology design and testing, Environmental Effects, Moorings and anchors, Fabrication and deployment, Social acceptance, social/economic effects and benefits, Policy, Grid connections, and Risk reduction.

PAMEC will use a two-step process for abstract submissions. A short abstract (100-200 words) is to be submitted through a form on the PAMEC website by March 15, 2023.

Feedback will be provided on the short abstract and an invitation made to submit an extended abstract (3-5 pages) for presentation at the conference and publication thereafter. The deadline for extended abstracts is June 26, 2023.

A small number of extended abstracts will be invited to prepare a full paper for a special issue of a journal, to proceed after the conference.

PAMEC is a non-profit organization created to bring together researchers in marine renewable energy in the Americas (including the Caribbean) by means of the Pan-American Marine Energy Conference, a research conference that is part of a global network of conferences that includes the European Wave and Tidal Energy Conference (EWTEC) and the Asian Wave and Tidal Energy Conference (AWTEC). PAMEC is intended to foster the development of marine renewable energy through collaboration among researchers, industry, and government.
