bOARD OF DIRECTORS
Dan Hasselman is the Science Director for the Fundy Ocean Research Center for Energy in Nova Scotia, and leads strategic science initiatives around environmental monitoring of tidal energy devices in support of project permitting and growth of the marine renewable energy sector in Canada. To that end, Dan has led the development of research programs in the Bay of Fundy with practical applications for tidal energy project development, and has established collaborations with international research partners to publish original research and syntheses related to environmental monitoring of marine renewable energy devices.
Dan has a PhD (Biology) from Dalhousie University and has held Research Associate positions at the University of Washington and the University of California Santa Cruz. Dan has over 15 years of experience engaging with the international research community, building partnerships with indigenous groups, and working collaboratively with governmental and regulatory agencies in Canada and the United States.
