PAMEC 2026 Call for Abstracts

The Pan-American Marine Energy Conference (PAMEC) 2026 will be held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from April 10-15, 2026.

We invite you to join with professionals in academia, industry, government, and research institutes with an interest in marine energy. During PAMEC 2026, we will come together to share research findings, discuss new directions and challenges in offshore renewable energy development, and promote the use of innovative and cost-effective solutions to tapping the energy potential of the ocean while protecting its precious living resources and those who make their living from the sea.

The PAMEC 2026 organizing committee strongly supports students from the Americas, featuring their work at the biennial conference and in association publications. PAMEC has limited funds to financially support their involvement in the conference.

The PAMEC 2026 organizing committee seeks abstracts focusing on tidal energy, wave energy, ocean current energy, salinity gradients, ocean thermal energy, offshore wind, environmental effects, socioeconomic effects, resource characterization, design, modeling, analysis, regulatory and licensing best practices.

Authors whose abstracts are accepted will be assigned an oral or poster presentation slot.

Abstract submission deadline: September 30, 2025

Author Instructions: Abstracts must be submitted using the online ExOrdo submission system (https://pamec2026.exordo.com/). Abstracts must be between 350 and 500 words and may include one figure; references are unnecessary.

The PAMEC.Energy Association brings together researchers in marine renewable energy in the Americas (including the Caribbean) by means of the Pan-American Marine Energy Conference (PAMEC). PAMEC is intended to foster the development of marine renewable energy through collaboration among researchers, developers, and suppliers.
